Jesus is Better than Santa
Santa lives at the North Pole.
JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year
JESUS is an ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies
JESUS supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney uninvited
JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart.
You have to stand in line to see Santa
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"
JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly
JESUS has a heart full of love.
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO
JESUS offers health, help and hope.
Santa says "You better not cry"
JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.
Santa's little helpers make toys
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree
JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.
It's obvious there is really no comparison.
We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.
We need to put Christ back in Christmas.
Jesus is still the reason for the season.
May the Lord Bless and Watch over you
and your loved ones this Christmas 2008
And may He prosper and bless
the work of your hands in the New Year.
May God Bless You All !

Oh the weather outside is Frightful

It snowed on Sunday and melted by sunday afternoon before church was even over. We were all disappointed. But on Monday morning the water froze and the roads were like a skating rink. Michael drove 5 minutes up the road, but it took him 30 minutes to get there, b/c of the icy roads. School was cancelled. Then it snowed some more! Yeah, but the temps were below freezing cold so the kids couldn't go out. It was that way all week last week.

Then on Saturday night, it started raining, but it was freezing rain. There was probably an inch on everything! Cool to look at but that is it. Trees break and take out power lines! It was awful, but not as bad as the Ice Storm we had in Lexington in 2003. By Monday morning the ice had melted thank goodness.
Michael went to work Monday morning around 6:30 am, but when he arrived the offices had no power. The generators were barely powering the lights. They couldn't get the computers to work! So they finally told them to go home around 8:30. When he went out his truck was covered in 8-9 inches of snow. We didn't get that much over here at our house, but we still got a bunch. The kids loved it! They played outside off and on all day until it started getting dark!

Michael went to work not knowing if he would be staying, but they have power today. It is going to be the only day he has to work though, b/c he has the rest of the week off.

The kids are sleeping right now, and the house is so quiet, but they'll be up in the next hour and thats when it gets totally crazy!

We'll see what happens today. I hope to get the house cleaned (AGAIN!) and organized before Christmas day, so we can have places to put our new Christmas presents.

Wish me luck!

Oh, and it's my brothers birthday today. He is 1 year and 10 days youngger than I am today (and everyday). But Happy Birthday Callis! I hope this is a wonderful year for you! That's my birthday wish for you.

Oh, and I love snow and all but I've had my feel for it for at least a month I think!
