I want to try this:
Changing your eating habits to lose weight can be a lot like quitting smoking. It's all about dodging those cravings instead of indulging them. So when you're considering that pasta dish or some mouth-watering dessert, try these craving busters smokers use:--
Count to 30 ... In a very short time, a craving will usually subside.--
Visualize ... your thinner, toned body, looking great in a pair of shorts and a form-fitting tee shirt.--
Adopt a substitute habit ... Of course, make it a healthy or at least neutral one, such as drinking tea (use the loose-leaf kind for the ceremony of it), chewing sugarless gum, etc.--
Change your routine ... Fill your time differently so you're more aware of eating.
If you're a TV-time muncher, put on exercise clothes when you get home, and do stretches, leg lifts, and crunches while you watch TV.--
Just say never ... Smokers have to commit to never, ever taking another drag of a cigarette. Although we can't give up eating entirely, for some people, it is helpful to "just say no" to one unhealthy food or ingredient that is a significant contributor to their weight problem.

King Arthur and the Witch
King Arthur and the Witch:
Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur's youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death. The question?...What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end. He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer. Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have the answer. But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged. The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her price first. The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend! Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life. He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur. He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the preservation of the Round Table. Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur's question thus: What a woman really wants, she answered....is to be in charge of her own life. Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur's life would be spared. And so it was, the neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding. The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half the time and the beautiful maiden the other half. Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day.....or night? Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments? What would YOU do? What Lancelot chose is below. BUT....make YOUR choice before you scroll down below. OKAY?
Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself. Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life. Now....what is the moral to this story?
The moral is.... If you don't let a woman have her own way... Things are going to get ugly!

One friend can make ALL the difference
We all know or knew someone like this!!
One day, when I was a freshman in high school,
I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.
His name was Kyle.
It looked like he was carrying all of his books.
I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday?
He must really be a nerd.'
I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friend’s tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.
As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him.
They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt.
His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him...He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes
My heart went out to him..
So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.
As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.'
They really should get lives.'
He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!'
There was a big smile on his face.It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.
I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived.
As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before.
He said he had gone to private school before now.
I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.
We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books.
He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.
I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes.
We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him..
Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again.
I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!
He just laughed and handed me half the books.
Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends..
When we were seniors we began to think about college.
Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke.
I knew that we would always be friends that the miles would never be a problem.
He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship..
Kyle was valedictorian of our class.
I teased him all the time about being a nerd.
He had to prepare a speech for graduation.
I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak.
Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great.
He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school.
He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.
He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him.
Boy, sometimes I was jealous!
Today was one of those days.
I could see that he was nervous about his speech.
So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!'
He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled ' Thanks,' he said.
As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years.
Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends....
I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them.
I am going to tell you a story.'
I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the first day we met.
He had planned to kill himself over the weekend..
He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.
He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.
He kept me from doing the unspeakable.'I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.
I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile.
Not until that moment did I realize its depth.
Never underestimate the power of your actions.
With one small gesture you can change a person's life.
For better or for worse.
God puts us all in each other’s lives to impact one another in some way.
Look for God in others and let others see God in you.

Bugsy from Bedtime Stories movie!
Bugsy the hamster from Bedtime stories. His eyes looked like the ones in the crazy greeting cards-huge and distorted. Halirous!
Fun movie to take the kids to.
Matthew's birthday!
He lost his watch during our move out here to OR. So he got this cool new watch with a compass on it. Should be handy in scouts!
Grandma and Grandpa Ferguson, got him another Harry potter book (not the novel-but one to go along with it?) and they also got him some more books and the Looney Toon movie with Brenden Fraiser in it. We watched that Friday night.
But before we had his birthday party Friday night (his birthday was actually on Thursday-26th) we picked the kids up after school and took them to see a flick at the Northern Lights theater. We saw Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler in it. You should see the little bug-eyed gerbil/hamster Bugsy in it! He made the movie! It was cute for the whole family-even us grown ups enjoyed it! Cheap $18 bucks for 6 people to see a movie.
He is 12 now and will be getting the Aaronic Priesthood soon! Wow, a son passing the sacrament! How can that be?! Amazing how time flies!!!
Anyhow... Happy Birthday Matthew!
Love you,
Mom
FHE idea for LDS Living-Sacrament
I receive a new FHE email every Monday morning from LDS Living. It is great. They have a downloadable PDF lesson that you can print out or save to your computer for use at a later time. Today's was on the Sacrament. I thought I would share the sweet story with you......."My introduction to the welfare program came when I was a deacon at twelve years of age. The bishop asked that I take the sacrament to a bedfast brother who longed for thisblessing. The morning was sunny, and I didn't mind missing my Sunday School class to walk the threequarters
of a mile distance from the chapel, down the street, across the railroad tracks to the modest
residence. I knocked at the kitchen door and heard a feeble voice say, "Come in."
I entered the kitchen, then moved to the bedside of Brother Edward Wright. When I uncovered the sacrament, he asked if I would place a piece of bread in his shaking hand and press the cup of water to his trembling lips. His gratitude overwhelmed me. The Spirit of the Lord came over me. I stood on sacred ground.
Brother Wright then asked that I sit and stay awhile. He said, "Tommy, this church is divine. The love the members have one for another is an inspiration. Take, for example, our Relief Society president, Sister Balmforth. Do you know what she did one week many years ago? She took her little red wagon, went to members' homes, and gathered a jar of peaches here, a can of vegetables there, and brought to my cupboard shelves the food that sustained me." I remember that Brother Wright cried as he told of the experience and described watching the Relief Society president walk away from his home pulling behind her, over the bumpy railroad tracks, the red wagon of mercy. I left that humble home and skipped back to the chapel—the same chapel where, ten years later, I would be sustained as the bishop, presiding over a membership that, more than any other in the Church, needed the welfare program."
