Bugsy from Bedtime Stories movie!

Bugsy the hamster from Bedtime stories. His eyes looked like the ones in the crazy greeting cards-huge and distorted. Halirous!
Fun movie to take the kids to.

Matthew's birthday!

Well, Matthew LOVES pie and talks about it all the time, so that's what he got for his birthday! It was good too. I've never put candles in a pie before though, that was interesting.
He lost his watch during our move out here to OR. So he got this cool new watch with a compass on it. Should be handy in scouts!
Grandma and Grandpa Ferguson, got him another Harry potter book (not the novel-but one to go along with it?) and they also got him some more books and the Looney Toon movie with Brenden Fraiser in it. We watched that Friday night.
But before we had his birthday party Friday night (his birthday was actually on Thursday-26th) we picked the kids up after school and took them to see a flick at the Northern Lights theater. We saw Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler in it. You should see the little bug-eyed gerbil/hamster Bugsy in it! He made the movie! It was cute for the whole family-even us grown ups enjoyed it! Cheap $18 bucks for 6 people to see a movie.
He is 12 now and will be getting the Aaronic Priesthood soon! Wow, a son passing the sacrament! How can that be?! Amazing how time flies!!!
Anyhow... Happy Birthday Matthew!
Love you,
Mom

FHE idea for LDS Living-Sacrament

I receive a new FHE email every Monday morning from LDS Living. It is great. They have a downloadable PDF lesson that you can print out or save to your computer for use at a later time. Today's was on the Sacrament. I thought I would share the sweet story with you.......

"My introduction to the welfare program came when I was a deacon at twelve years of age. The bishop asked that I take the sacrament to a bedfast brother who longed for thisblessing. The morning was sunny, and I didn't mind missing my Sunday School class to walk the threequarters
of a mile distance from the chapel, down the street, across the railroad tracks to the modest
residence. I knocked at the kitchen door and heard a feeble voice say, "Come in."
I entered the kitchen, then moved to the bedside of Brother Edward Wright. When I uncovered the sacrament, he asked if I would place a piece of bread in his shaking hand and press the cup of water to his trembling lips. His gratitude overwhelmed me. The Spirit of the Lord came over me. I stood on sacred ground.
Brother Wright then asked that I sit and stay awhile. He said, "Tommy, this church is divine. The love the members have one for another is an inspiration. Take, for example, our Relief Society president, Sister Balmforth. Do you know what she did one week many years ago? She took her little red wagon, went to members' homes, and gathered a jar of peaches here, a can of vegetables there, and brought to my cupboard shelves the food that sustained me." I remember that Brother Wright cried as he told of the experience and described watching the Relief Society president walk away from his home pulling behind her, over the bumpy railroad tracks, the red wagon of mercy. I left that humble home and skipped back to the chapel—the same chapel where, ten years later, I would be sustained as the bishop, presiding over a membership that, more than any other in the Church, needed the welfare program."

Go to http://www.ldsliving.com/e/2009/fhe/FHE030109.pdf to print off this lesson about the Sacrament and they even have a yummy recipe: Cinnamon Sugar Pull Apart Rolls to go along with it! Yum!

Scarf purse

Look at this cute and super simple scarf purse that has been created on Martha Stewart.com! You simply have to tie a knot at each end of the 36 inch scarf and then tie two of the knots together and then the other two together to get this adorable purse. This would be great for a vacation-take a few with you to change around to coordinate with your outfits. No worry about packing your bulky purses! Awesome!
They have a video posted so you can see for yourself how simple this would be to make. Now the scarf has yet another function! So fun! Thanks Martha Stewart!

Twilight...........I'm addicted!

Well, the kids -Nicole and Matthew-have been reading these books (at least the first 3) since around Novemeber. So Nicole comes up to me all the time telling me about these characters, Bella and Edward (like I have time to care about fictional characters too?). So Matthew started reading these books after Nicole and when he finished the first book, he brought it to my room and put it on my headboard. I let it sit there for about 2 weeks before I decided one Monday (last week) to pick it up and see if it was worth my time. Well, I finished reading it Tuesday evening, then I got on Stephanie Meyer's website and found Edward's version "Midnight Sun" and LOVED it! It gives a whole new perspective of the book-his. Then I saw the "outtakes" and thought this had something to do with the movie, but it was actually parts that were deleted from the book-and some of them are HALARIOUS!
Stephenie Meyers is an awesome writer and I am so thankful that (so far) these characters are chaste. How wonderful for our children to see the unity and bond that these characters build together while choosing to wait.
I've only read the first book (and the drafts and outtakes) and just saw the first movie last night with my honey. I will read the rest when I get time too, I do have church responsibilites, and I'm also taking a writing class and a computer class too. So I have to catch up this week, from what I put off last week. (This book is like a true addiction-it's crazy, but awesome!)
I think we will be buying the Audio Books so we can all have them on our MP3 players or listen to them in the car! We love doing that.
So here's my question for you: "Who's hosting the March 21st Twilight party?"
If you haven't read the outtakes and Edward's version of the story-very enlightening and entertaining. I just hope that one day Stephanie finishes Ed's version of the book(s).
I'll post more when I read the other books!

I'm an Auntie today!

My brother and his wife-Aaron & Amber had there first baby today around 5pm. I haven't talked to them yet-they are doing all the new parent things at the hospital so I will let them call us later-probably tomorrow.
The baby was having a little trouble breathing well (her lungs were expanding all the way) so they were giving her oxygen. So remember her in your prayers-Chloe Lynn.
I fell like a parent without being a parent. I don't have any sisters, just two sweet brothers. So little Chloe Lynn is my first niece/nephew within my siblings! Does that make sense??!!
So I'm excited and want to go shopping and I really really want to see her, but I'll have to wait til later. They live down in Lemoore, California where he is stationed in the Navy. It is close to Fresno. So it will be a while till I see them. But I'm excited to get pictures and see and hear her!
Congratulations Aaron and AMber! And welcome to little Chloe Lynn!!! Your aunt can't wait to spoil you! ; )

I'm exercising-Finally!

OK, I've exercised twice this week and planning on doing it again today!

I have this old VCR tape that I have used lots -Sport's Illustrated Stretch and STrengthening with Elle Macpherson. My aunt had it and gave a copy to my mom. I started using it as a teenager and then totally quit working out when I started having kids.
When I decided I'd like to use these again, I went on Ebay and found the boxed set (of 3 different workouts) for like 5 bucks!!! I was so happy.
I know it's succesful, because I have used it in the past.
Yesterday before I worked out again, I was SO SORE!! {No pain, no gain? -OUCH!!!}
I felt so much better after I worked out again and it stretched out the sore muscles.
My resolution:
I am going to keep at this even if I fall off the wagon! If I fall off then I'm gonna get back on again.
I'm NOT GONNA GIVE UP!!!
My health is at stake, and I don't want to be sick the rest of my life, when just 30 minutes a day can help me prevent this!
Anyway, wish me luck!
